Cloud storage complimenting tablet PCs
Having endured over a decade of the limelight in PC storage, hard disk drives are finally under stiff competition from alternative hardware solutions—but also from the ever-growing world of online or cloud storage. Tablets and other mobile devices are spurring the competition on.
Netbook and notebook makers have stuck with hard drives but tablet PCs have instead opted for NAND flash storage. Tablets are even more portable than netbooks and since Flash can withstand being bumped around it guarantees sturdy performance.
